Tom Cruise is once again championing the power of cinema — this time throwing his support behind Ryan Coogler’s latest film, Sinners, starring Michael B. Jordan.

On Monday, Cruise took to Instagram to share a photo of himself standing next to a giant Sinners poster, proudly holding up his movie ticket. Dressed casually in a grey T-shirt, black jacket, and matching pants, the actor smiled for the camera, encouraging fans to experience the film the way it was meant to be seen.

“Congratulations Ryan, Michael, and to the entire cast and crew. Must see in a cinema and stay through the end credits!” Cruise wrote in his post, adding to the growing buzz around the horror film.

Fans quickly flooded the comments, applauding Cruise’s gesture. One user called him “the GOAT for recognizing greatness,” while others praised him for consistently supporting fellow filmmakers.

Directed, written, and co-produced by Ryan Coogler, Sinners is set in the Mississippi Delta in 1932. The film sees Michael B. Jordan in dual roles as twin brothers confronting a terrifying supernatural evil in their hometown. The ensemble cast also includes Hailee Steinfeld, Jack O’Connell, Wunmi Mosaku, and Delroy Lindo.

Cruise’s endorsement of Sinners isn’t surprising. In 2023, he similarly backed Harrison Ford’s Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, as well as the double feature of Oppenheimer and Barbie during the Barbenheimer phenomenon, even as his own Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One competed in theaters. He had then urged audiences to watch all the big releases, celebrating the theatrical experience.

Up next for Cruise is Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, set to release in Indian cinemas on May 17 — six days before its global launch. Directed by longtime collaborator Christopher McQuarrie, the film is the final chapter in the beloved franchise, with familiar faces and exciting new cast members joining the ride.
