Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan’s production banner Aamir Khan Productions on Monday (May 5) unveiled the first look poster of the much-awaited Sitaare Zameen Par. Further, the makers also revealed that the film, a spiritual sequel to 2007’s Taare Zameen Par, will release in theatres on June 20.
The first look features Aamir along with ten debutant actors — Aroush Datta, Gopi Krishna Varma, Samvit Desai, Vedant Sharma, Ayush Bhansali, Ashish Pendse, Rishi Shahani, Rishabh Jain, Naman Mishra, and Simran Mangeshkar. The poster hints at another emotional and enchanting tale in the same vein as Taare Zameen Par. ‘Sabka apna apna normal,’ is written as the tagline of the film.

Sitaare Zameen Par, which wrapped its shooting in June last year, features Genelia Deshmukh as the female lead. The film is directed by RS Prasanna, best known for helming Shubh Mangal Saavdhan and On A Quest, a biopic on Swami Chinmayananda Saraswathi.
With a screenplay written by Divy Nidhi Sharma, Sitaare Zameen Par has music scored by Shankar–Ehsaan–Loy and lyrics written by Amitabh Bhattacharya. Aamir and Aparna Purohit serve as the producers. Notably, the film marks Aamir’s return to the silver screen after 2022’s Laal Singh Chaddha.
2007’s Taare Zameen Par, which was directed by Aamir himself, revolved around an eight-year-old gifted boy, Ishaan, played by Darsheel Safary. Aamir played his art teacher who discovers Ishaan is dyslexic and helps him explore his true potential. The film turned out to be a blockbuster and is widely considered a cult classic in Hindi cinema. The story the upcoming spiritual sequel is set to tell remains unknown, however, the first look poster has certainly added to the hype.
