Looks like Japan is the latest destination for all Indian biggies! Just days after the release of Jr NTR’s film Devara: Part 1, Silambarasan and director Venkat Prabhu’s time-loop thriller Maanaadu is getting a release in the island country.
The film’s producer, Suresh Kamatchi, took to his X handle to confirm the news. The Tamil post written by the producer translates to “A good film is like a beautiful bird. It will be loved across continents. Maanaadu is currently set to release in Japan in May. There is hope that this loophole screenplay will captivate the hearts of the Japanese.”
Maanaadu follows an NRI and a police officer who are trapped in a time loop on the day of a public conference and forced to live the same day over and over again. Simbu plays the lead, while the rest of the cast includes S. J. Suryah, Kalyani Priyadarshan, Manoj Bharathiraja, S. A. Chandrasekhar, Y. G. Mahendran, Karunakaran, Premgi Amaren, Aravind Akash and Anjena Kirti.

Last seen in Pathu Thala, Silambarasan has multiple films coming up. The actor has teamed up with Parking filmmaker Ramkumar Balakrishnan. He will also produce his upcoming movie with Desingh Periyasamy. The two movies are tentatively titled STR 49 and STR 50 respectively. He is also collaborating with Dragon director Ashwath Marimuthu for a film that’s tentatively titled STR 51.
Silambarasan is also a part of Mani Ratnam and Kamal Haasan’s Thug Life, which also stars Ashok Selvan, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Joju George, Abhirami and Nassar.
