The Red Lorry Film Festival is set to close its second edition with the Asia premiere of One To One: John & Yoko, a documentary about John Lennon and Yoko Ono’s creative and personal journey. The film, directed by Kevin Macdonald and Sam Rice-Edwards, will be the festival’s grand finale before its worldwide theatrical release on April 11, 2025.

A highlight of the documentary is The One to One Concerts, John Lennon’s only full-length performances after The Beatles. Featuring newly restored and remixed concert footage, the film brings these legendary performances to life with audio remastered by Sean Ono Lennon. Alongside the electrifying stage moments, the documentary also grants unprecedented access to personal archives, including unseen home movies, phone recordings, and behind-the-scenes footage captured by Lennon and Ono themselves.
Since its premiere at the 2024 Venice Film Festival, One To One: John & Yoko has earned critical praise, with screenings at Telluride, London, and Sundance.
Expressing his excitement about the film’s Asia premiere, director Kevin Macdonald said, “Bringing One To One: John & Yoko to Red Lorry Film Festival as the closing film is incredibly meaningful. This documentary represents years of meticulous restoration and historical research.” Co-director Sam Rice-Edwards added, “Focusing down on a particular time and place, we hope the film captures the raw creative energy between two revolutionary artists.”

Festival Director Ashish Saksena called the film a perfect fit for the festival’s mission: “This documentary represents everything Red Lorry Film Festival stands for — bold artistic vision, cultural significance, and stories that transcend boundaries.”
The Red Lorry Film Festival will run from March 21-23, 2025, in Mumbai and Hyderabad, featuring over 120 films, including Best Pciture winner at the Oscars 2025 — Anora, Emilia Perez, Maria, The Outrun, The Last Showgirl, Red Rooms, Universal Language and classics like Se7en, Pretty Woman, The French Connection, Karz, and Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak.
