Sunny Deol in ‘Jaat’.

The makers of Jaat have announced a sequel to the hit action drama. The Bollywood movie, starring Sunny Deol, hit the screens on April 10, 2025.
Jaat is directed by Telugu filmmaker Gopichand Malineni. The movie is bankrolled by Mythri Movie Makers and People Media Factory. “This time the mass feat will be bigger, bolder and wilder,” wrote the makers on social media.

In Jaat, plagued by injustice and brutality, an Andhra village awaits a saviour. One day, an outsider, who calls himself Jaat, discovers the sorry state of affairs and decided to to take on the system.
The movie also stars Randeep Hooda, Vineet Kumar Singh, Regina Cassandra and Saiyami Kher in prominent roles. The Hindu review of the film said, “The violence is explicit, where severed heads are captured like money shots, and crimes against children, young women, and the old are used to manipulate the audience. If you can leave the discerning palate behind, this mass feast is for you to savour.”

Jaat raked up ₹20 crore at the box office in India in its first two days. The film was nearing ₹60 crore in India by the end of its week. Meanwhile, Sunny Deol is filming for Border 2, the sequel to the hit 1997 war drama. He is also shooting for Lahore 1947, directed by Rajkumar Santoshi. Produced by Aamir Khan, the movie also stars Preity Zinta.
