After nearly three weeks of cryptic, blank posts, Amitabh Bachchan has finally broken his silence on social media. On Sunday morning, the Bollywood icon addressed the recent Operation Sindoor with an emotional Hindi post on X (formerly Twitter), paying tribute to the Indian Army and victims of the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack.

The megastar’s post detailed the brutal killing of 26 civilians, including tourists and a Nepalese national, by terrorists in Kashmir. Bachchan recounted the tragedy through the eyes of a grieving woman who witnessed her husband’s execution. “Don’t kill my husband,” she pleaded, only to be met with cruelty. The attacker told her to live and “tell the world.”

Bachchan, 82, connected this moment to a line from his father Harivansh Rai Bachchan’s poem, which he quoted in Hindi. “I carry the ashes of the funeral pyre in my hands, yet the world asks me for sindoor,” he wrote. “And ‘.’ gave her the sindoor!!! OPERATION SINDOOR!!!”

He ended with a salute: “Jai Hind. Jai Hind ki Sena. You shall never stop; you shall never turn back; you shall never bow down… Path of Fire!”

This was Bachchan’s first substantive post since April 22. His prior cryptic posts — black images with numeric captions — left fans puzzled.

His message joins a wave of voices from the film industry, including Rajinikanth, Kamal Hassan, Aamir Khan, and more, who condemned the Pahalgam attack and praised India’s precision strikes on nine terror camps in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir on May 7.

On Saturday, hours before Bachchan’s post, India and Pakistan agreed to a ceasefire across all fronts, following high-level military talks.
