Prime Video has pulled the plug on Citadel: Honey Bunny and Citadel: Diana, despite both spin-offs racking up strong viewership. The decision comes as part of a broader shakeup following the departure of Jennifer Salke, former head of Amazon MGM Studios, who championed the global Citadeluniverse.

Created by the Russo Brothers, the Indian and Italian chapters — Honey Bunny and Diana — were designed as regional expansions of the main Citadel series starring Priyanka Chopra and Richard Madden. Both offshoots were executive produced by the Russos and explored different branches of the covert spy organisation central to the franchise.

Despite Honey Bunny, led by Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Varun Dhawan, becoming the platform’s most-watched debut in India and Diana delivering Italy’s strongest original launch on Prime Video, neither show will continue beyond their first season.

“While these successful and widely enjoyed international chapters will not continue as individual series, Season 2 of Citadel will be our most exhilarating yet,” said Vernon Sanders, head of television at Amazon MGM Studios.

The upcoming season of the flagship Citadel series is set to premiere globally in the second quarter of 2026. Amazon confirmed that storylines from both Honey Bunny and Diana will be folded into the central narrative, continuing the arcs of characters like Nadia, Mason, and Orlick.

The cancellations arrive amid reports of other projects being quietly dropped, including speculation around the fate of Amazon’s Tomb Raider series with Sophie Turner. No official statement has been made on that front yet.
