Sony has released the trailer for A Big Bold Beautiful Journey, starring Margot Robbie and Colin Farrell as two strangers who get a chance to step back into pivotal moments from their pasts. The film, directed by Kogonada, is set to hit theaters on September 19.
Robbie plays Sarah and Farrell plays David, two single guests who meet at a mutual friend’s wedding. The chance encounter soon unfolds into a surreal experience, as the pair find themselves reliving key events from their earlier lives. The film’s synopsis describes it as “a funny, fantastical, sweeping adventure” that explores how the past shapes the present, and how a second look might alter the future.
The film features an ensemble cast including Lily Rabe, Jodie Turner-Smith, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Hamish Linklater, Billy Magnussen, Sarah Gadon, Brandon Perea, Yuvi Hecht, Lucy Thomas, and more
The trailer also features Gracie Abrams’ “I miss you, I’m sorry” as the backdrop to scenes of the two leads navigating memories.
Director Kogonada introduced the film at CinemaCon in March, describing Robbie and Farrell as “two extraordinary stars at the peak of their craft” who “light up the screen together.”

The movie marks Robbie’s return to the big screen following Barbie, the highest-grossing film of 2023, and Farrell’s first feature since his award-winning role in The Penguin.
Written by Seth Reiss, A Big Bold Beautiful Journey is produced by Bradley Thomas, Ryan Friedkin, Reiss, and Youree Henley.
