‘Chhaava’ Day 5 box office collection: Vicky Kaushal’s historical drama inches towards becoming his biggest hit

After getting off to an impressive start at the box office, Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaavais maintaining a steady run in theatres. Directed by Laxman Utekar, the Hindi historical drama is based on the life of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj.

The film, which hit the screens on February 14, 2025, has so far collected a nett of Rs 165 crore in India, with the gross collection being Rs 168.6 crore. The film is set to become the highest grosser in Vicky Kaushal’s career so far.

As of now, Uri: The Surgical Strike, is the biggest hit in Vicky Kaushal’s filmography with a box office result of Rs 244.14 crore. Chhaava, which also stars Rashmika Mandanna and Akshaye Khanna in prominent roles, has surpassed the box office numbers of Raazi (2018)and Sam Bahadur (2023), the other two hit films of Vicky Kaushal.

According to box office tracking website Sacnilk, Chhaava has collected Rs 195.6 crore worldwide. The overseas performance of the movie stands at Rs 27 crore. By Day 4, the movie had a collection of Rs 145.53 crore at the India box office.

Based on the Maratha warrior, the film has expectedly performed well in Maharashtra. Pune (705 shows) has had the highest occupancy followed by Mumbai (1419 shows). A R Rahman has composed the music for Chhaava.
