Indian pop star and actor Diljit Dosanjh made his debut at the Met Gala 2025 blue carpet at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, USA on Tuesday (May 6) IST. Diljit, one of the biggest names in Punjabi pop music, made heads turn in a royal Punjabi outfit. The custom-made number celebrating Diljit’s cultural roots is by ace designer Prabal Gurung.
The Met Gala is dubbed one of fashion’s shiniest nights, held annually on the first Monday (ET) of May. Earlier, Indian superstar Shah Rukh Khan made his Met Gala debut in a dazzling Sabyasachi Mukherjee outfit. Kiara Advani, who has starred in popular films like Kabir Singh, Shershaah and the recent Game Changer, and is currently expecting her first child, also stunned on the blue carpet, as did Met Gala habitue Priyanka Chopra Jonas.

The Met Gala, often dubbed “fashion’s biggest night out,” is an annual fundraising affair for the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute. Started in 1948 by American fashion publicist Eleanor Lambert, the event has grown in prestige and scale over the years and is currently known for attracting an array of stars from film, music, fashion and more— all converging to celebrate the Costume Institute’s latest exhibition.
This year, the Institute’s spring exhibit, “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” is the official theme of the night, spotlighting the sartorial tradition of Black Dandyism.
