Sreeleela. and Kartik Aaryan in the first look teaser

The makers of Hindi star Kartik Aaryan’s upcoming film, co-starring Sreeleela, unveiled a first-look teaser on Saturday. Written and directed by Anurag Basu, the yet-untitled film is set to release during Diwali this year.
In the teaser, Kartik, sporting a huge beard, plays guitar in a huge concert. The teaser shows him and the film’s female lead Sreeleela romancing in the mountains and riding bikes. The video also features Vishal Mishra’s rendition of the track “Tu hi zindagi hai, tu hi Aashiqui hai.”
Composer Pritam, a frequent collaborator of Anurag, is scoring the music for the upcoming film. Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar produce the film under their T-Series banner.
The makers are yet to announce the title of the film. According to several reports, the upcoming film is the long-awaited third instalment in the Aashiqui franchise. In 2022, T-Series announced that it is collaborating with Anurag and Kartik for Aashiqui 3. However, it remains unknown if this is the same project. An official announcement is awaited.
The original Aashiqui, released in 1990, was directed by Mahesh Bhatt and starred Rahul Roy and Anu Aggarwal. The film was a commercial success owing to Nadeem-Shravan’s music and songs penned by Sameer, Rani Mallik and Madan Pal.
A spiritual sequel to the film, Aashiqui 2 (2013) was directed by Mohit Suri and featured Aditya Roy Kapur and Shraddha Kapoor in the lead. The second part also turned out to be a huge blockbuster. The songs of the film were composed by Jeet Gannguli, Mithoon and Ankit Tiwari with lyrics by Irshad Kamil, Sandeep Nath, Sanjay Masoomm and Mithoon.
