Tamil superstar Ajith Kumar has just made a scintillating return to form at the box office with Good Bad Ugly, which collected Rs. 28.50 crores on its opening day on Thursday, April 10.
This figure is much bigger than the Rs. 22-crore opening that his previous film, Vidaamuyarchi, received in January. Interestingly, this is also reportedly the highest opening day figure for Ajith in his career. According to Bollywood Hungama, his 2022 film Valimai held the previous record with Rs. 28 crores collection on opening day.

According to Sacnilk, Good Bad Ugly had a commendable occupancy of 79.47 per cent on the opening day. While Chennai topped the list with 95 per cent occupancy, Trichy and Pondicherry came followed with 94.75 per cent and 94.50 per cent, respectively.
Directed by Adhik Ravichandran, Good Bad Ugly features Ajith as a retired gangster who is forced to take up arms one last time to save his son. The film, filled with numerous callbacks and references to Ajith’s previous films, is said to be high on fan service, the kind of film Ajith’s ardent fans have been wishing from their idol for quite some time.
The Hindu’s review of Good Bad Uglycalled the film “a loving work of nostalgia” and as a “new benchmark in fan service.”
The film stars Trisha as the female lead, in a consecutive pairing with Ajith after Vidaamuyarchi. The film features an ensemble cast that includes Arjun Das, Prabhu, Sunil, Prasanna, Raghu Ram, Redin Kingsley, Priya Prakash Varrier, Jackie Shroff, Yogi Babu and Shine Tom Chacko.
The film’s music is composed by GV Prakash. Abinandhan Ramanujam serves as the cinematographer, while Vijay Velukutty is on board as the editor. Naveen Yerneni and Y Ravi Shankar produce the film under their Mythri Movie Makers banner.
