Celine Song, the acclaimed director of Past Lives, is back with Materialists, a romantic comedy starring Dakota Johnson, Chris Evans, and Pedro Pascal. A24 has unveiled the official trailer, teasing a love triangle between an ambitious matchmaker, her seemingly perfect suitor, and the ex who still lingers in her mind.

Johnson plays a high-powered New York City matchmaker who finds herself torn between the safe choice and a past love. Evans and Pascal bring their charm to the roles of the two men vying for her heart, setting up a battle of romance.
Following the massive success of Past Lives, which earned two Academy Award nominations and grossed over $42 million globally, Song returns with a fresh take on modern relationships. Materialists is produced by Christine Vachon and Pamela Koffler of Killer Films, along with David Hinojosa of 2AM. A24 will handle the film’s U.S. release, while Sony Pictures oversees international distribution.
Shot in New York City between April and June 2024, the film also features Zoe Winters, Marin Ireland, Dasha Nekrasova, Louisa Jacobson, and Sawyer Spielberg.
