Bollywood star Janhvi Kapoor’s rumoured boyfriend Shikhar Pahariya on Monday (March 17) hit back at an Instagram user for targeting him with a casteist remark on a picture he had posted with Janhvi.
Shikhar’s original post, posted in November, featured him and Janhvi celebrating Diwali along with their dogs. Shikhar had wished his followers a happy Diwali, stating “May good reign over evil and may we have the strength and wisdom to always pick the path of righteousness.”
However, a troll had left a casteist remark on the comments of the post, an action that got a strong response from Shikhar. Sharing the comment on his Instagram Story, Shikhar called such level of thinking as the “only thing truly untouchable.”
“It’s honestly pathetic that in 2025, there are still people like you with such a small, backward mindset. Diwali is a festival of light, progress, and unity, concepts that are clearly beyond your limited intellect. India’s strength has always been in its diversity and inclusivity, something you clearly fail to grasp. Maybe instead of spreading ignorance, you should focus on educating yourself because right now, the only thing truly ‘untouchable’ here is your level of thinking,” he wrote.

Shikhar’s response has garnered appreciation from netizens.
Shikhar is the grandson of former Home Minister of India, Sushikumar Shine, and the son of actor Smruti Shinde. Notably, Shikhar’s brother Veer Pahariya had recently made his acting debut, with the Akshay Kumar-starrer Sky Force.
The rumours surrounding Janhvi and Shikhar’s relationship have been going on for a while. Though neither of them have confirmed the same, they do leave fans curious by sharing pictures with each other on their social media handles.
